New Date Confirmed for Thread Count: Global

MCCGC is pleased to announce that Thread Count: Global will take place on Friday, 6th November 2026, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Function Centre, The Link (G07), Griffith University, Parklands Drive, Southport, QLD 4215.

We know many young people and community members have been looking forward to this celebration, and we sincerely appreciate everyone’s patience and continued support. The new arrangements will help us deliver the best possible experience for participants, performers, partners and guests.

Created by young people, for young people, Thread Count: Global is the ultimate multicultural prom night celebrating culture, creativity, identity and belonging. The free event will bring together young people aged 14 to 25 from across the Gold Coast for an unforgettable evening of food, music, live performances and a multicultural fashion showcase featuring traditional dress from around the world.

Attendees are encouraged to wear traditional attire, a cultural outfit or something that represents who they are, and join a vibrant celebration of diversity, connection and community.

All existing registrations remain valid for the new date, and registered attendees do not need to take any further action.
