Creating Safe Spaces for Peer Support and Cultural Learning

We held a meaningful session with our Multicultural Peer Support Workers (MPSW) from the Culture in Mind program. This program is co-delivered alongside our peer workers, whose lived experience enriches every aspect of our work.

The session centred on strengthening how we support our communities and deepening our understanding of the supervision framework. It offered space to reconnect with the MPSW role, reflect on a case study, and ensure we continue showing up in ways that are culturally safe, grounded, sustainable, and supportive of our own wellbeing.

At MCCGC, we deeply value the peer support role and recognise how important it is to create safe environments where peer workers can learn, share, and feel heard. Sessions like this help us stay aligned, connected, and ready to walk alongside community members with empathy and cultural humility, an ongoing, lifelong self-reflection process.
