Our Board of Directors
The Board of Directors are committed to the adoption of ethical and behavioural conduct in all areas of its responsibility and authority. In doing so, Board members are bound to the principles and practices of the organisation.
Rebecca has held senior executive roles in the resources, IT, professional services, and aged care sectors. She has a diverse background in leading strategy, business transformation, digitalisation through technology and in her passion for people and culture. Rebecca is currently the Chief People &Transformation Officer at Infinite Care, a national residential aged care provider. She is an advocate for diversity and inclusion and through her leadership likes to ensure that CALD interests are considered in all people related decisions. Rebecca has worked across multiple Asia Pacific countries, held global roles, and lived in a number of countries outside of Australia.
Mirela is a Senior Lecturer in Finance at Griffith Business School specialising in teaching Corporate Finance at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. She holds a Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of International Finance (Honours) and PhD from Griffith University. Her published research is focused in the area of higher education teaching as well as behavioural finance. Mirela is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), a member of Griffith Centre for Personal Finance and Superannuation, and a senior associate of FINSIA (Financial Services Institute of Australia). Mirela held the position of Director of Learning and Teaching in the Department of Accounting Finance and Economics of Griffith Business School, before being appointed as the current Deputy Director of the Griffith MBA. Mirela speaks fluent Romanian.
Dr. Mohtady Ali is an Egyptian-born medical doctor, international professor, and multidisciplinary senior medical academic with expertise spanning Microbiology, Public Health, Disaster Management, and Medical Education. She is a novelist and educational expert whose mission is to inspire others to learn, grow, and build resilience.
She holds two doctoral degrees: a Medical Doctorate from an Egyptian university and a PhD from Griffith University, Queensland, Australia. In addition to her medical and academic contributions, Dr. Mohtady Ali is an experienced coach, mentor, and leader. Over the past five years, she has focused on organisational and individual resilience, particularly within Queensland’s multicultural communities.
Her commitment to community resilience extends to her role as Chairperson of GCMAGIC. She is a member of the Australian Arabic Cultural Association.
Leon is a practising solicitor with a top-tier international law firm. He specialises in foreign investment and has acted for some of Australia's largest corporations and financial institutions. Leon has studied in Australia, China, France and the Netherlands and previously served as ministerial staff to former Australian Foreign Minister the Hon Julie Bishop. A Burleigh local, Leon is a passionate contributor to his community and is involved in a wide range of community organisations and charities across the southern Gold Coast.
Mercy has a Master of Nursing degree and has worked as an advanced clincial nurse and lead RN in different specialities for almost two decades. She is a credentialed Nurse Practitioner with a special interest in gerontology and emergency. Mercy has worked with First Nations and CALD communities. Mercy is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors' Foundations of Directorship program.
Letitia Del Fabbro is a registered nurse with extensive experience as both a clinician and educator. Currently a Lecturer in Nursing at Griffith University, she holds a range of qualifications, including a Bachelor of Nursing (BN), a Bachelor of Health Science (Honours) (BHlthSc), a Graduate Diploma in Aboriginal Studies (GradDipA), and a Master of Public Health (MPH). Letitia is also a Fellow of the Public Health Association of Australia (FPHAA) and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA).
Saminda Arambewala is an executive leader, researcher and strategy and operations consultant with experience across financial services, government and other regulated and public-interest environments. He has held senior executive, consulting and academic roles across Australia and the UK. A former Chief Operating Officer in the insurance sector, Saminda has led strategy, transformation, governance, operations and organisational delivery across complex environments. He brings to MCCGC a strong focus on multicultural leadership, inclusion and the contribution culturally diverse communities make to Australia’s workforce, economy and society.
Chris Haigh brings more than 25 years of cybersecurity and technology leadership to the board, with experience across Australia, Europe, the United States and South Africa. As Chief Information Security Officer at Mercury IT, a Gold Coast organisation, his focus is on helping boards and executives understand and govern digital risk in clear, practical terms. Earlier in his career he co-founded and grew a technology business in the United Kingdom, giving him a strong grounding in organisational leadership and good governance. Chris is a committed mentor with the Australian Women in Security Network and a passionate advocate for diversity, inclusion and building a more representative industry. Based on the Gold Coast, he is glad to contribute his governance experience to MCCGC's work supporting and strengthening multicultural communities.
Executive Leadership Team
The Executive Leadership Team at MCCGC provides strategic leadership to the organisation, ensuring we continue to deliver meaningful outcomes for the diverse communities we serve across South East Queensland.
The team consists of the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Head of Shared Services, and Head of Business & Stakeholder Development. Working closely with the Board of Directors, the Executive Leadership Team is responsible for delivering MCCGC's Strategic and Operational Plans while ensuring the organisation remains responsive, sustainable, and community-focused.
Drawing on extensive experience across community services, business operations, finance, governance, people and culture, and stakeholder engagement, the Executive Leadership Team works collaboratively to strengthen MCCGC's impact and support continued growth. Together, they ensure the organisation remains well-positioned to meet the evolving needs of multicultural communities, people with disability, seniors, carers, and families throughout the region.
Shane, as the executive lead of MCCGC, guides our team in maintaining a proactive approach with clients and navigating government reforms. This ensures that we continue to provide our diverse communities, seniors, and participants with sustainable, tailored support. With over 30 years of leadership experience, Shane's guidance is invaluable in shaping our future.
Jessica serves as the COO for MCCGC’s Community Programs and Cura Aged Care Services, expertly managing the day-to-day operations of both our brands. She ensures their continued growth and compliance while maintaining a steadfast focus on our core purpose and mission.
As the CFO of MCCGC, Goran provides financial guidance to our growing team, driving best practices in finance to ensure a financially sustainable future that delivers the best value for our clients and the broader community.
Operating as our Head of Business and Stakeholder Development, Emily oversees the Marketing and Communications team across all our organisations brands, while leading key stakeholder development initiatives to drive growth and engagement across our sectors.
