Multicultural Peer Support Workers (MPSW) Session
We recently hosted a valuable gathering with our Multicultural Peer Support Workers (MPSW) from the Culture in Mind program. This initiative is delivered in partnership with our peer workers, whose lived experience meaningfully shapes and enhances our approach.
Our time together focused on strengthening the ways we support our communities and expanding our shared understanding of the supervision framework. The session created an opportunity to reconnect with the purpose of the MPSW role, reflect on our practice and role play activities, and reaffirm our commitment to showing up in ways that are culturally safe, grounded, sustainable, and supportive of our own wellbeing.
At MCCGC, we hold deep appreciation for the peer support role and recognise the importance of fostering environments where peer workers can learn, exchange ideas, and feel genuinely heard. Sessions like this help us stay aligned, build connection, and continue walking alongside community members with empathy and cultural humility.
