MCCGC Echoes FECCA’s Condemnation of Anti-Semitic Violence at Bondi Beach
16/12/2025
16th December 2025
As the Gold Coast’s multicultural peak body, Multicultural Communities Council Gold Coast (MCCGC) stands with our federal peak body, the Federation of Ethnic Communities’ Councils of Australia (FECCA), in unequivocally condemning the anti?Semitic violence at Bondi Beach. We extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those who have lost their lives, and we stand in solidarity with Jewish communities and all those affected by this hateful act.
This was an appalling act of anti?Semitic violence. Hatred and violence directed at any community have no place in Australia and must be confronted collectively and without hesitation. In echoing FECCA’s leadership, we reaffirm that an attack on one community is an attack on our collective spirit as a multicultural nation; when any group is targeted by hate, it undermines the values of respect, inclusion and unity that bind our society together.
The attack has caused deep pain and fear, particularly within Jewish communities, and has reverberated across Australia’s multicultural society, including here on the Gold Coast. MCCGC calls for unity, compassion and responsible public discourse, and we reaffirm our commitment to opposing racism and all forms of hate.
MCCGC will continue to coordinate with our partners and stakeholders to ensure our response reflects FECCA’s national guidance and supports community cohesion at this difficult time.
