Luminous Festival 2025

For the second time, Luminous in the Regions returns to the Gold Coast and Multicultural Communities Council Gold Coast (MCCGC) invites everyone to this parade that promises to be full of colour and light with the spectacular handmade lanterns crafted by communities to celebrate cultural diversity. This vibrant event will be held in our beautiful city, and it’s hosted in collaboration with Multicultural Australia and supported by Multicultural Affairs, Queensland Government and SBS Australia on Saturday, the 23rd of August.

It will be a powerful walk around the HOTA lake, where communities will unite in a single voice to create a sense of belonging and thrive for migrants, acknowledging their strengths and resilience.

During the festival, kids can enjoy the lantern making workshops where they will craft their own lantern to display in the parade. These workshops will be held from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Additionally, attendees can enjoy a variety of low-cost food options available for purchase.

  • Date: Saturday, the 23rd of August
  • Time: 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm
  • Location: Home of the Arts, 135 Bundall Rd, Surfers Paradise
