Community Webinar, "Migrating with Heart"

We had a meaningful session in our Community Webinar, "Migrating with Heart." It was exceptional to hear attendees share their insightful reflections on the challenges they face while building a new life and transforming their identities.
Violeta Blengio, a psychologist specialised in anxiety, depression, identity, and emotional regulation, guided us through the transformative journey of migration. She helped us explore the grief of leaving behind family, culture, and traditions and the feelings of being lost and overwhelmed that often arise during this experience.
Violeta reminded us that tending to our mental wellbeing is essential for building resilience. She shared practical tools to help us stay grounded and emotionally supported:
1. Breathing techniques to calm ourselves in stressful situations.
2. Building connections in communities where we feel safe and joyful.
3. Exploring new hobbies and traditions that we enjoy.
4. Practising self-compassion.
Treating ourselves with the kindness, care, and understanding that we would offer to a friend is crucial for navigating the migration process.
