National Volunteer Week 2026

We were proud to recognise the incredible impact of our volunteers and students during the National Volunteer Week 2026 (18–24 May) celebration. This year is particularly important as 2026 has been declared the International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development (IYV 2026), an initiative led by the United Nations and supported by Volunteering Australia that promotes inclusive and sustainable community participation.

Over the past three months, 18 passionate participants from 13 different countries, speaking 14 languages, have joined us through placements, internships, and volunteering, contributing across our programs, including NDIS, Marketing and Communications, Employment and Training, Community Development and more. From weekly commitments to flexible event support, their dedication strengthens everything we do.

As part of National Volunteer Week, we brought our volunteers together for a session that highlighted their commitment, dedication, and the positive impact they make every day. During the event, we also held an interactive workshop “Goal Setting: Wish it, Plan it, Do it”, where our participants created their own vision boards and not only left with clear commitments to help them achieve their goals for the year ahead, but also with lovely mini succulents as a reminder of resilience.

A big thank you to all our teams for their guidance and support in creating a welcoming environment where volunteers can grow, thrive, and learn from a multicultural community, helping us build stronger community connections.
