Gold Coast Multicultural Network Meeting
MCCGC was proud to host the 2nd Gold Coast Multicultural Network Meeting for 2026 during DFV Prevention Month, embracing this year’s theme: “Together Queenslanders can prevent domestic and family violence.”
Thank you to our partners, Multicultural Families Organisation (MFO), Domestic Violence Prevention Centre (DVPC), and Queensland Police Service (QPS), for sharing their expertise and strengthening our response to DFV in CALD communities. Highlights included:
- MFO’s SARA program training on the effective use of interpreters and translators to improve outcomes and best practices
- Insights into the Domestic Violence Integrated Response Plan (launched officially today by DVPC) and the role each and every one of us has in ensuring safe communities
- The critical role of specialised QPS staff in keeping our communities safe
Thank you to our members who braved the weather and committed to the collective call to action to recognise, report and help stop violence in our communities.
